Ahhh, Simply French…

I have a new favorite thing, and a new favorite place. French Macarons from Simply French on West 10th Ave in Vancouver. Macarons are full of almond flour, so how can they be bad? Aren’t almonds ‘smart food’? This is how I’m justifying my new addiction, anyhow. I figure as long as I don’t eat more than one on any given day, I’m alright, and hopefully even a little better off… Ah, smart food! Anyway, obsessed with seeing how these glorious little wonders are made, I found out Simply French was offering a class on making them. Isobel will show you how it’s done. She is so wonderful, and charming, and so full of patience, she only once had to point at the door and tell me, ‘Out!!!’
A class at Simply French is a super fun thing to do if you have the time. You won’t be sorry, (especially if you’ve got an upcoming hair appointment, as I will help you determine, as a certified expert, how well you paid attention, and how well you executed the special recipe)… This is just a thought. (Just a thought = new angle for me to operate from, because I’m getting more clever… From my smart food intake, obviously).
The only problem you may encounter is that you will want to see these macarons made in every flavour known to mankind. Isobel made a batch of blueberry after weeks of me pestering her, and let me tell you, if a ship full of pirates landed up on shore, and demanded you hand over your own mother, you’d hand her over for a batch of the pale purple delights. (But, if you take a class, you can make your own, and save your mother, as God only knows, pirates rarely have good intentions).

Happy Monday! xo
